Sense Perception in Science and Sastras

Sense Perception in Science and Sastras

This book is a compilation of scholarly papers presented at a seminar on "Perception" held from August 15–18, 1985, at Sri Shankara Math, Bangalore. The event, blessed by Their Holinesses Sri Abhinava Vidyatirtha Mahasannidhanam and Sri Bharati Tirtha Sannidhanam of Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, brought together eminent scientists and oriental pandits to exchange views on the deep knowledge within traditional Śāstras and its relevance to modern science. Conceived by Swami Paramananda Bharati, the seminar revealed subtle, lesser-known aspects of Indian philosophical systems related to perception.

The original papers, in Sanskrit, Kannada, and English, were translated into English and edited by Prof. T.M. Srinivasan and Smt. B.G. Sreelakshmi. The book aims to provide readers with insights into the Śāstras and inspire further inquiry. Initially published by Sri Sharada Trust, it was later reissued by the Publication Division due to high demand.
